Graduated in electrical engineering at RWTH-Aachen and PhD in economics at Humboldt-University, Berlin. Communications engineer with IBM, manager of a telecommunications consultancy, founder of Telenet GmbH Kommunikationssysteme, founder of several affiliated companies of Telenet. 1998 trade sale to a global telecommunications corporation.
Dr. Jopen was advisor to a number of start-up companies in Munich and Dresden. He is co-founder and actually managing director of the entrepreneurship center of the technical university of Munich, the UnternehmerTUM GmbH. In his lectures Dr. Jopen encourages students and scientists of all faculties to develop entrepreneurial spirit and entrepreneurial skills. In the last 12 months the UnternehmerTUM trained more than 500 students and scientists within the scope of semestrial cources.
