Following his studies of computer science and business administration at the University of Mannheim and University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis, Clemens Engler joined IBM as a researcher in 1996 in the Scientific Center in Heidelberg.
Next, Clemens joined the Telecommunication group as a consultant for large telcos in the Service Provider domain and joined the new sector of Net Generation as business development leader.
Since 2001, Clemens worked for the IBM Venture Development group in Europe as a tecnical and business consultant for Europe.
He was nominated Chief Technology Officer of IBM Venture Development Europe in 2005.
Since 2006 Clemens is Business Development and Strategy Manager for ISV & Developer Relations as well as for the Venture Capital group in Europe and maintaining the relationships to the Venture Capital Community. He is now based in Mannheim / Germany.
One of the main goals of Venture Development is to seek for external innovation and innovative companies to facilitate common business with IBM, the lines of business and business partners.
