Bernd Gombert founded the company SPACECONTROL GmbH, Gesellschaft für 3D-Systeme, based in Gilching, Germany. This company´s main objective is to make 3D input technology (SpaceMouse) the world-wide standard in the field of 3D computer design. In 1998 SPACECONTROL and Logitech, the world’s largest manufacturer of computer input devices, agreed to set up a joint venture. SPACECONTROL GmbH was renamed to LogiCad3D GmbH and in the meantime sister companies have been founded in the U.S.A. and Japan.
