Dr. Thomas W. Kuehr is President and CEO of T-Venture Holding GmbH and President of
the German Venture Capital Association / Bundesverband Deutscher Kapitalbeteiligungs-gesellschaften (BVK), Berlin.
Dr. Kuehr belongs to the „Pioneers“ of the German Venture Capital industry: In 1976, he became a member of the first management-team of Deutsche Wagnisfinanzierungsgesellschaft (WFG), Frankfurt. This was the first German venture capital fund, initiated by the German Government, and it established the concept of venture capital investment in Germany.
In 1982 Dr. Kuehr became Managing Partner and CFO of GENES Venture Services GmbH. He and his partners then founded International Venture Capital Partners (IVCP-Luxembourg) in 1984 and Euroventures Germany (Eindhoven and Stuttgart) in 1986. The GENES funds specialized in high-technology investments in early stage companies.
Dr. Kuehr joined Deutsche Telekom AG in May 1997. He proposed and realized the concept for T-Venture, and started the company on October 1, 1997. Within a short period of time, he built up the organizational structure of T-Venture, one of the leading Corporate VC companies in Europe.
