Spencer Hyman has more than 18 years of experience in international management at media, entertainment and technology companies in Europe and Asia and has worked in a wide variety of strategic and operational roles.
Spencer was previously with the UK subsidiary of Amazon.com, and was a member of Amazon.com's European management team. He built and led merchandising, supply chain, editorial and catalogue teams specializing in electronics, software and video games. Under his direction, Amazon built relationships with vendors and partners across Germany, France and the UK, created the largest catalogue of software and video games in Europe and was awarded "retailer of the year" for its software, electronics and games stores at the VNU Industry Awards in 2001.
Spencer was previously in the communications, media and technology practice at Booz.Allen and Hamilton, Inc. in London and Tokyo, and was also a member of the UK management team. Prior to Booz.Allen and Hamilton, he was held a sales and marketing role at Hasbro Japan for five years, where he oversaw the M&A strategy that led to the creation of Hasbro Japan.
Spencer was also served in operating positions for Hasbro's joint venture manufacturing facilities in Thailand and for Hasbro's Asia Pacific marketing headquarters in Hong Kong.
He currently serves on the board of Butterfly.net where he also chairs their Business Development and International Steering Committee. Spencer is also on the board of the UK based Directors Information Assurance Network (DIAN).
Spencer is an honors graduate of Magdalen College, Oxford where he studied history and economics.
