Dr. Bernhard Hertel, Physicist, was appointed as Managing director of Garching Innovation GmbH (GI), the technology transfer agency of the Max Planck Society, in 1999.
He studied physics at the Technical Universities of Stuttgart and Berlin. After 10 years at the Max-Planck-Institute for Metal Research he is with Garching Innovation, the technology transfer agency of the Max-Planck-Society since 1979. Since then he was responsible for projects related to materials science, software and all types of scientific and medical instrumentation.
